Workshops & Wider Engagement

A number of specialist workshops are to be held under the project involving senior academics and junior researchers. The calls for these workshops will be advertised under the "events" section of this website.

The project is always looking for junior researchers who want to work on Islamic communities in the UK and Europe. Considering the scope and complexity of the project and the vastness of the movements under study, collaboration is most welcome with those who want to develop ideas for research or undertake joint fieldwork. Such researchers are encouraged to get in touch.

The project offers research students the opportunity to work on jointly-authored papers, if you would benefit from analysing your material from a conceptual lens that is of interest to the project team.

You are also welcome to submit your work for possible publication in the CIC Working Papers series, or in one of our edited volumes.

In a few cases, the project may also host final-year doctoral students in Oxford on short CIC visiting studentships. These studentships will only be offered if it is felt that your presence in Oxford would help the project team to develop a specific aspect of our research.

Whether you are a research student from Oxford or from elsewhere, we would encourage you to approach Professor Masooda Bano (masooda.bano@qeh.ox.ac.uk) with your ideas, if you are interested in getting involved with the project in any way.
